Eichelberger and Faris Get First Wins at Latrobe Speedway
LATROBE, PA (June 19, 2022) – Level Green’s Sam Eichelberger parked his Special T Metals Pro Stock in victory lane for his career first Latrobe Speedway win. Corey Faris claimed his first of the season in the Joe’s Body Shop Pure Stock. Repeat winners were Michael Duritsky (K2 Engineering Crate Late Models), Bob Pease (Stone & Co 4 Cylinders) and CJ Parrill (Seal Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders) and Hank Coles won the PA Vintage Modifieds.
Corey Faris used his outside front row starting spot to good advantage in the Joe’s Auto Body Pure Stocks. Faris took off at the start and started to pull away, Stephen Hazlett held the second spot as seventh starting Anthony Monteparte quickly worked his way into third. Hazlett and Monteparte battled for the runnerup spot. Monteparte finally got around on the last lap and had to settle for the second spot over Hazlett, EJ Rozak, Justin Ruff, John Cain, Bill Finlay, Dakota Hixson, Bill Schramm and Ron Ramsey. Heats went to Dakota Hixson and Anthony Monteparte.
The Seal Tite Strictly Stock 4 Cylinders saw a good battle between CJ Parrill and Joe Jacobs for the first five laps. Jacobs went over the top of the track and this put Joe Huffman in the second spot. Huffman tried his best but Parrill was not to be denied his second win of the season. Huffman, Matt Underwood, Justin Connors and Joe Jacobs rounded out the field. Jacobs won the heat.
Michael Duritsky and Noah Brunell led the K2 Engineering Crate Late Model feature to the drop of the green. Red hot Duritsky had the lead as the field went in to turn one. The only way anyone got close was a yellow. Duritsky was on a rail glidding to his third win this season at Latrobe. John Over came home second ahead of Braeden Dillinger, Jeff Ferguson, Noah Brunell, Clate Copeman, Colby Beighey, Ryan Frazee, Cameron Campbell and Dylan Burketti. Qualifying heats went to Brunell and Duritsky.
The Special T Metals Pro Stocks saw a career first time winner in Sam Eichelberger. Eichelberger led all 12 laps and held off a close Brett Hutira to take the win. Anthony Monteparte, who made his Pro Stock debut in Joe Kelley’s car, lost third on the final lap to Tommy Dembowski. Marty Spade completed the top five. Eichelberger also won the heat.
Paul Koffler III took the lead at the start of the Stone & Co Modified 4 Cylinder feature. Koffler first led Brian Noel before seventh starting Bob Pease took over the chase on lap three. Koffler and Pease put on a show for fans chasing each other through traffic. Pease was able to make the winning pass on lap eleven and drove off to win number three on the season. Koffler held on to second over Tiffani McElhose, Dale Grubbs, Brian Noel, Andrew Jones, Wyatt Piper, Josh Grubbs. Dayton Hazlett and Mike Pavlak. Qualifying heats were won by Dale Grubbs, Paul Koffler and Bob Pease.
Hank Coles ran away and hid in the PA Vintage Modified main. Steve Longo held off a fast closing Todd Daughenbaugh with Sportsman winner Jeff Manners fourth over John Marks.
In the five laps Dad Dash John Monteparte passed Barry Faris with two to go for the win.
