RON COMPTON MEMORIAL COMING UP, AND LAP SPONSOR INFORMATION
LATROBE, PA – The Second annual Ron Compton Memorial for Crate Late Models is coming up fast on August 19th at the Latrobe Speedway in Latrobe, Pa., and it is sure to be a great event once again. Last season, United Late Model Series regular Braeden Dillenger of Dawson, Pa., picked up the victory. The event will pay the regular purse at Latrobe Speedway, but just like last season, the Compton family is looking to add lap money to the event to make it even better for the drivers.
Ron Compton was a mainstay in the western Pennsylvania area in his driving days and is the father of Jeff Compton, who, along with his wife Rose, ran the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series in the region from 2017 until 2020. The event will feature the K2 Engineering Crate Late Models running the Ron Compton Memorial, Wisneski Waste Revomal Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks paying $2,500-to-win, Bowers Farms RaceSaver 305 Sprints and Special T Metals LLC Modified 4-Cylinders. General Admission for Adults is $15.00, Seniors and Military $12.00, Kids 7-11 $10.00, and Kids six and under FREE. Pit gates will open at 4:00 PM, General Admission gates will open at 5:00 PM, and racing will get underway at 7:00 PM.
If you are interested in sponsoring a lap for the event, you can contact Rose Compton at (724) 433-0159 or send her an email at roseyetiboy@gmail.com.
